City for All

ACCESSIBILITY occurred as a result of the development of civilization, legislation, and certainly, technology development. Accessibility relies on: recognizing, accepting, and promoting the rights of all human beings (the main foundations of European philosophy) It is developed on the principles of: antidiscrimination, promoting equality, and promoting inclusion.

Project Objective:

The project “Skopje city for all” is a preparatory project for the implementation of a larger regional program “City for all” for information on access to infrastructure for people with disabilities.

The program implements a digital solution that maps, evaluates and corrects the accessibility of facilities and publishes it on an application that people with disabilities can use through multiple media.

Project Implementation:

February 2020 – December 2020

IMPACT FOUNDATION has partnered with international organizations in Serbia that has initiated this programme on a regional level and has managed to implement a second phase in the capital city of Belgrade. In Macedonia, IMPACT FOUNDATION has triggered the preparatory project with the City of Skopje and together with an organization that stands for the people with disabilities was granted mandate to implement it.

Accessibility platform “City for all” gathers in a donor basket collaboration with public and private partners such as:

Beneficiaries:

The platform targets:

  • About 15% of people with significant disabilities in the general population
  • About 10% of people with mild disabilities in the general population
  • About 20% of the elderly in the general population

Results:

In the preparatory project we will achieve the following results:

  • EVALUATION of 100 public institutions to be evaluated for people to disabilities to be informed for their level of accessibility of
  • EDUCATION FOR PRIVATE SECTOR of 20 trainers to be trained for educating employers how to empower people with disabilities
  • INCREASED AWARENESS of 50 hospitality objects to be aware for their low accessibility and start adopting infrastructural changes for people with disabilities to come
