In 2023, Impact Foundation was awarded a service contract by USAID Youth Actively Create Opportunities Activity to conduct 3 workshops.

Project Objective:
The primary goal of this training is to enable young people to become freelancers.

Impact Foundation conducted these workshops from October until the end of December 2023. Each training and tournament session encompassed the following: (1) practical workshops based around the needed soft skills to become a successful freelancer (2) facilitation of access to digital labor platforms and remote job opportunities and (3) promoting freelancing as a career and self-employment option. All sessions were completed with a career guidance session for the participants.
The 3 workshops were attended by a total of 158 participants. The workshops were conducted by experienced freelancers who educated the youth on the needed soft skills which are crucial for starting and sustaining a career in freelancing. The following topics were covered:
- The first workshop covered introduction to freelancing, what are the benefits and challenges of a freelancer, what skills one will need to have to become a successful freelancer and what platforms one can apply to work on.
- The second workshop covered how to find clients, how to prepare proposals, how to prepare for interviews and how to prepare portfolios.
- The third workshop covered working with clients, more specifically most frequently used tools for client communication, including client expectations and care, as well as regulatory prospects related to freelance payments, taxes, and social benefits.
